Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 16 September 2026
1. Our Commitment
Velo North Consulting Ltd ("Velo North", "we", "us", "our") strives to ensure that its digital services are accessible to people with disabilities. We have invested significant resources to help ensure access for all users, including people with disabilities, with the strong belief that every person has the right to live with dignity, equality, comfort and independence.
Digital accessibility is not just a target we aim to achieve, but an ongoing commitment that we carry in every aspect of our digital service delivery. We recognise that this requires continuous monitoring, improvement, and adaptation. In the sections below, we elaborate on the various efforts that have been undertaken to address our progress in ensuring digital accessibility for all.
2. Conformance Status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA, as set forth by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities and more user-friendly for everyone.
At present, we consider our website to be partially conformant with WCAG 2.1 Level AA. "Partially conformant" means that some parts of the content do not yet fully conform to the accessibility standard - see "Limitations and Third-Party Content" below.
To support our ongoing efforts, we have engaged with the third-party accessibility tool UserWay, which provides an assistive widget on every page of our site.
3. Accessibility Features on This Website
We have built the following accessibility features into our website:
- "Skip to main content" link - appears on focus at the top of every page so keyboard users can bypass the navigation and jump straight to the main content (WCAG 2.4.1).
- UserWay accessibility widget - available on every page, offering options such as contrast adjustment, larger text, dyslexia-friendly fonts, link highlighting, cursor enhancements, and a screen reader.
- Semantic HTML & landmarks - pages use proper headings and a single
<main>landmark so assistive technologies can navigate content correctly. - Page language declared - the document
langattribute is set toen(WCAG 3.1.1). - Keyboard navigation - interactive elements are reachable using the Tab key and operable using Enter / Space, with visible focus indicators on buttons, links, and form controls (WCAG 2.4.7).
- Alternative text for images - meaningful images include descriptive
altattributes where appropriate; decorative images are intentionally marked as such. - Reduced-motion support - animations, marquees, parallax effects, and the cursor glow are automatically disabled or reduced when the operating system's
prefers-reduced-motionsetting is enabled (WCAG 2.3.3). - Responsive, zoomable layout - content reflows on mobile, tablet, and desktop, and supports browser zoom up to 200% without loss of functionality (WCAG 1.4.10).
- Accessible forms - our contact and candidate registration forms use clear labels, required-field indicators, error messages, and visible focus states.
- Colour-contrast aware design system - text and interactive colours are defined as design tokens reviewed against WCAG 2.1 AA contrast targets.
4. Limitations and Third-Party Content
Despite our best efforts, some content on our website may not yet be fully accessible. Known limitations include:
- Third-party embeds - content provided by third parties (such as Cloudflare Turnstile challenges, Cookiebot consent banner, embedded videos, social media feeds, or external blog assets) may not fully conform to our accessibility standards. We work with vendors that prioritise accessibility wherever possible.
- User-generated content - content submitted by candidates or clients (such as CVs, attachments, or external links) is outside our direct control.
- Legacy blog content - older articles may not always meet our current accessibility standards. We review and update content over time.
If you encounter content that is not accessible, please let us know using the contact details below and we will do our best to provide an accessible alternative.
5. Ongoing Efforts
We treat accessibility as a continuous process rather than a one-off project. Our ongoing efforts include:
- Regular audits of new and existing pages against WCAG 2.1 AA
- Manual and automated accessibility testing during development
- Reviewing third-party tools and components before adopting them
- Training our team on accessible content and inclusive design
- Acting on feedback from users of assistive technologies
